We have 2 different types of polymer clay transfer options available within this design.
The polymer clay transfer options are:
- Water-Slide Decal Transfers
- Water-Soluble Transfers
Size of a transfer is: 12cm x 8cm
HOW TO USE WATER-SLIDE DECAL TRANSFERS:
Water-slide decals for polymer clay. Use them to transfer this beautiful pattern to polymer clay jewellery.
This paper is single use and it’s intended to be used on baked light-colour polymer clay.
- Cut the polymer clay (light colours only) with the shape cutter of your choice and bake.
- Cut the water-slide decal in the same shape.
- Place the water-slide decal in a bowl of room temperature water for about 30 to 60 seconds or until the middle of the decal can easily be slid around.
- Remove from water.
- Position the decal on the clay with the white side down and gently slide the white backing off.
- Use one finger to keep the decal in place white you pull the backing.
- Press firmly, use your fingers, a damp cloth/paper towel or a mini squeegee to remove air bubbles.
- Gently pad off any excess water.
- Let the decal set and dry for at least 3 hours, away from direct sunlight.
- Seal the piece with a sealer like polyurethane varnish or resin.
HOW TO USE WATER-SOLUBLE TRANSFERS:
- Condition clay (light colours preferably) as usual and roll it out on your baking surface/tile.
- Once rolled out place the transfer face down (print side towards the clay) on the clay and roll it slightly to make sure the clay adheres to the whole paper nicely.
- Leave it for 15-20 minutes before you gently pour water over it.
- The paper will completely dissolve and only the print will remain on your clay. If you feel there is still a residue on your clay surface, just leave it, you can wash the last bit of residue off after baking.
- Use your cutters as usual and bake as usual.
